Data Collection & Use
GemMetric collects gemstone analysis data from user scans, including color information (CIE L*a*b* values, hex codes), identified species, clarity and cut assessments, and detected treatments. This data is collected for the following purposes:
- •AI Model Improvement: Anonymized data is used to refine and improve the GemMetric grading algorithms and increase accuracy.
- •Database Development: Data contributes to building a comprehensive reference database of gemstone characteristics and market trends.
- •Research Partnerships: Anonymized, aggregated data may be shared with academic institutions and industry research partners to advance gemological science.
- •Market Intelligence: Data may be used to generate market insights, price trends, and industry reports.
Data Anonymization
All data shared for research, database improvements, and external partnerships is anonymized. This means:
- •User identifying information (name, email, account ID) is removed before data is used for analysis or shared.
- •Data is aggregated or sufficiently de-identified to prevent re-identification of individual users.
- •Your personal scan history remains private and accessible only to you unless you choose to share it.
Your Rights
By agreeing to this data policy, you grant GemMetric a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use anonymized scan data for the purposes outlined above. You retain:
- •Full ownership and privacy of your personal account and individual scan records.
- •The right to request deletion of your personal account and associated data.
- •The right to opt-out of future data collection by adjusting settings in your account.
